sit back and watch my awesomness

sammerjam on the first day of fifth grade.
standing in a sea of new tennis shoes. all of the kids looked so cute and shiny and fresh.
sam and olivia were up at 5 this morning...ready to go. :)

it’s better than a D or a F

thanks, sam.
we’ve been having some grade discussions lately. can you tell?

school photos

seeing the latest makes me wish i had one of those cascading frame galleries in my stairwell.
note to self. start homeschooling when the braces come off. :)

homecoming

she is tired of hearing it...but when i went to homecoming, i wore a wool skirt and a silk blouse. (i also wore 10 pounds of make-up...but that’s another story!) neither of these are “the dress”...but these were 2 of my other favorites. she does have a date, but they are all going as a group.

spring musical

pretty handsome...am i right? he wanted to wear a tux. said he could use one for when he plays secret agent. a tux and high tops. i might have to consider it.

(he is the little spec in the front row in the white shirt. the program was really cute. you can see it in their faces...the kids just feel so important!)

washington dc

olivia was in washington dc these last couple of days. amazing how someone who spends most of her time in her room avoiding us ...can leave such a void in our house when she is gone. can’t wait to hear stories of her trip and see more of her pictures. these were a few she sent on her phone. i know i’m her mom...but i really she think she has a good eye with her shots.

12.3.10

pink

today was wear-pink-day at burton elementary in honor of two of our most beloved teachers who are also going through a breast cancer battle right now. thanks to joanna...sammy has the coolest shirt ever...that even has his moms name on it. he was a little afraid that it looked like a dress...but i think the black underarmour toughened it up.

daily ritual

thanks to leya at curious bird for this fun idea.
it is supposed to be every wednesday...and i’ve already fallen behind.

we flip a coin every monday morning to see who will start out the week
taking sammy to school. heads mommy, tails daddy. today was my day.
usually we talk more, but sam was busy filming.
we also have a special handshake with words to go with it...love you so, so much.

27.3.09

i can just do a tell.

sammy > realizing he didn’t have a “show” for today.
(he decided to tell everybody that i’m going to put livin’ on a prayer onto his shuffle.)

family and consumer science

formerly known as home ec!
olivia is working on her schedule for next year...the new name just cracked me up.

3.9.08

first day

the do-i-really-have-to-stand-here-for-another-picture look.

olivia...not doing her homework.

3.6.08

promotion

from 6th grade to 7th.
didn’t she just graduate from kindergarten?

29.5.08

can-can

the berkshire elementary 6th grade band.

i thought i was being all fancy last night recording this and stuff...
but i find out today that olivia didn’t even play on this one. oh well.
olivia is that cute trumpet player in the back.

6th grade camp

a burton elementary school rite of passage.
she left us on tuesday with notes on everyones bed...
the only way we know what they are doing there is by checking here and here.
we were told that she will come back a different person than from when she left.
does that mean she’ll stop leaving clothes all over her room?
it’s pretty funny around here. we really miss her.

hypothesis

natural ingredients.
a healthier muffin.
good enough to be a finalist,
but we didn’t win anything.
i think the winner of
the fair spliced a gene...
or built a
human heart valve...
something like that.
so, we’re pretty happy.
and very proud of olivia.
