my neighbor, carol, has lamented that color-wise, this fall has been pretty dull.
and for the most part, i agree. but then there’s this.
a japanese red maple we received as a wedding gift from our friend jim.
that’s what sam calls our neighbor’s garden.
black raspberries, tomatoes, rhubarb, green beans, soybeans, basil, all kinds of peppers, sweet potatoes, broccoli...

im in love with this spread from the july issue.
my next table will definitely have dill sprigs tucked in lots of little plain bottles.
